The Spiritual Journey…barefoot [s]he comes into the marketplace, muddied and covered in dust… ~ 12th century Chinese Rinzai Chán [Zen] master Kuòān Shīyuan
Dear Friends on the Path, If there is one thing that can be said about the Dharma, it is that it is about tranformation. To be on the Path is to be on a spiritual journey, one that ultimately leads away from all of one’s stories and back to an understanding of this life as the fullness of the Dharma in stillness and in action. Recently, I made a decision to set down the robes of the Theravada, a change that will take place on September 15th. I will continue to be the Guiding Teacher at DBC and a member of the ordained sangha, guided by the 16 bodhisattva precepts and Zen monastic forms. The video (click on the image below) tells a bit more of the story, and I hope it will clarify my reasons for making such a change. I have also prepared responses to some frequently asked questions to help clarify that Dassanaya Buddhist Community will continue to be a place of refuge for all of us and hopefully many more people in the future. With deep care for the Way, Dhammadīpā
