It’s Beautiful When…

It's beautiful when someone wants to commit to an ethical life by taking up the bodhisattva precepts. In the Soto Zen tradition, they prepare a garment in the traditional form, sewing hundreds of stitches while affirming their commitment to Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.

Maybe you've seen someone wearing it. It's called a "rakusu."

Several students are preparing to take the ethical precepts with Dhammadipa this year and next. They are sewing, studying, and taking a precepts class.

Let's celebrate the work of bringing wholesome goodness into the world and sustaining it in community!
