“Introducing the Mobile Buddha: Bihari Bronze Artisans and the Exercise of Agency”
Dhammadipa’s final research project to complete the MA in Art History and Conservation of Buddhist Heritage is a study of artisans from the early medieval period (6th and 7th centuries) in northeastern India. It is a study of the ways in which artisans exercise agency and the ways that those choices impact the viewers’ relationship to the image of the Buddha.
