Dassanaya’s Death Café

  • 4321 Verplanck Place NW Washington, DC (map)

What is a Death Café?

At a Death Café people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death.  The intention is to become more aware of death and thereby make the most of living one’s life.

There is no agenda at the Death Café other than to explore what death means.  It is a discussion conducted in small groups with prompts from the facilitators, rather than a grief support or counseling session.  It is a respectful, confidential space with no intention of leading people to any particular conclusion.

And it is always enjoyed with refreshing drinks and nourishing food – and cake!

Hosted by Dhammadīpā and Kaili Mang Jeyarajah.

Note that this event is taking place at a home in Washington DC and NOT at the vihara.
