A Life of Embodied Intention: an 8-day Residential Retreat

The Dhamma is often described as a process of simply letting go, dropping all the desires of a confused, limited self. Yet diligent effort is also a key aspect of the Noble Eightfold Path, and there are many teachings that encourage striving. How can we reconcile these teachings? Is there a way to practice that can avoid the pitfalls of clinging and struggle while retaining a sense of purpose and direction? This retreat will explore the role of choice and action on the Path of awakening. It will include periods of meditation in stillness and in movement, chanting, opportunities for individual encounters with the Guiding Teacher, and an optional time for reflections in a group setting.

The retreat will take place at Claymont Society retreat center in Charles Town, WV, a lovely propoerty with old growth trees, a garden, and extensive walking trails.

This retreat is offered by donation and an offering of $1000 covers the costs we incur for room and board. Registration is now open.
