Summer Book Club: A Path of Discovery

Together with Ayya Dhammadipa, the participants in this book club will spend eight weeks exploring ways that each of us can discern our personal path of practice, seen through the lens of the Noble Eightfold Path. We will read the text “The Noble Eightfold Path: The Way to the End of Suffering” by Venerable Bhikkhu Bodhi, with a focus on how the Path elements work together, and points of investigation and insight that emerge from the framework. We will explore such questions as, “What kinds of obstacles can I expect to encounter on the Path, and how can I meet them? How can stories from the Buddha’s life support my spiritual development? How do Buddhists meditate and why?”

The book club will begin on August 1st. Live online group discussions will take place for eight Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 8:15 pm Eastern US time, starting on August 4th. Registration is open now by filling out the online form here.
